The onefin electric ray or Cape numbfish (Narke capensis) is a common but little-known species of electric ray in the family Narkidae, native to South Africa and is a benthic fish found in shallow coastal bays over sandy or muddy bottoms. This small species reaches 38 cm (15 in) in length, and has a nearly circular pectoral fin disc and a short, muscular tail that supports a large Class: Chondrichthyes. China Seas are one of the most diverse regions in the Pacific. Though much effort has been made to explore its biodiversity, the polychaetes diversity is still poorly known. A large number of species records are based on ecological investigation rather than taxonomical studies. We update the Polychaete species taxonomicaly described from China coastal waters during and list them as a Author: Yueyun Wang, Chunsheng Wang.

Evans, Sea Watch Foundation, UK @ The Indian Ocean is the third-largest of the world's oceanic divisions, cover, km 2 (27,, sq mi) or % of the water on the Earth's surface. It is bounded by Asia to the north, Africa to the west, and Australia to the east. To the south it is bounded by the Southern Ocean or Antarctica, depending on the definition in use. Along its core, the Indian Ocean has some large Coordinates: 20°S 80°E / 20°S .
Recent work by the authors has also added some 19 additional species to the known fauna, which now stands at 70 species. The aims of this study are thus to revise and update the South African echinoid fauna list, and to present a new, easy to use and fully-illustrated guide to all known regional species. Benthic macroinvertebrate fauna densities ranged from – ind.m-2 (Figure 9). By station, benthic macroinvertebrate fauna density (ind.m 2) ranged from –, –, –, and – at Stations 1–4, respectively, with highest values in early post monsoon by:

Abstract. Individuals belonging to two new species, from two genera Clymenella Verril (Maldanidae) and Mooreonuphis Fauchald (Onuphidae), have been collected and described from a sublittoral bottom area close to Antofagasta, northern Chile. An investigation of the distribution and habitat utilization of spionid polychaetes in Tokyo Bay revealed eight shell-boring and 18 non-boring (interstitial, epifaunal, and infaunal) species, of these 11 species were recorded in the area for the first time. Most of the boring and interstitial species, which are associated with mollusc shells, were mainly distributed in exposed environments Cited by: 1.
